The IT-Business Processing Management sector in the Philippines grew by 34.5% and employed 900,000 in 2013. To sustain this growth, the IT-Business Processing Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) has partnered with the UP Open University for the development of courses to enable more people to be part of the industry. Offered as massive open online courses (MOOCs), the e-Service Management Program (eSMP) was developed to scale up both teaching and student learning, and is based on the CHED approved curriculum composed of five courses (BPM 101, BPM 102, Service Culture, Business Communications and Systems Thinking). This project is funded by the Asian Development Bank and coordinated by Prof. Melinda Bandalaria.
