UPOU Book Caravan Project kicks off in Cebu
With two exhibit booths selling UPOU books and instructional CDs and VCDs, UPOU launched its Book Caravan Project in Cebu on 6-8 September 2006.
The UPOU was one of the exhibitors in the 2 nd National ICTs in Basic Education Congress on 6 and 7 September at the Water Front Hotel, Lahug, Cebu City . The Department of Education (DepEd), the Foundation for Information Technology Education Development (FIT-ED), and the Commission on Information and Communication Technology (CICT) organized the congress.
Around 900 delegates-composed mostly of school principals and administrators, DepEd division and regional officials, administrators from private schools, state universities and colleges, and representatives from the private sector and nonprofit organizations working in the field of ICTs in basic education-attended the conference.
On 8 September 2006, UPOU set up a similar exhibit in its Learning Center in UP Cebu . The UPOU books and CDs/VCDs will be on display at the learning center until the end of this year. Interested individuals, schools, and universities can visit the UPOU exhibit at the UPOU Learning Center , Arts and Sciences Building , UP Cebu, Lahug, Cebu . Aside from UP Cebu , the UPOU will also organize exhibits in other constituent UP campuses. On 13 -15 September 2006, the UPOU will participate in the exhibit organized by different institutions in Los Baños, Laguna, in celebration of the town's Bañamos Festival. The exhibit will be set up at the D.L. Umali Hall, UP Los Baños.
