UPOU Links up with Various Institutions

The UPOU has forged partnerships with the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCARRD), La Consolacion College Bacolod, and the University of Perpetual Help System (UPHS).

The partnership with PCARRD will pursue cooperation in the following areas: implementation of human resources development programs; scholarship in either degree or nondegree programs through distance education; and development of DE curricula and modules.

Meanwhile, the alliance with La Consolacion College Bacolod will pave the way for cross enrollment of their students to UPOU. The college will also serve as one of the testing centers of UPOU.

The University of Perpetual Help System is tapping the expertise of UPOU for its Faculty Capacity-Building Project. UPOU provides training programs for 2,000 faculty members of UPHS. Prior to the signing of the MOU, the UPOU had already conducted two training programs for UPHS. These are Grammar and Written Communication and Speech and Oral Communication. Dr. Felix Librero and Dr. Adelle Avalos served as trainors.

Representing the UPOU during the signing of Memoranda of Understanding were Chancellor Felix Librero and Vice Chancellor Victoria Bautista, Dr. Patricio Faylon for PCARRD, Dr. Ma. Mercedes Joson for La Consolacion College Bacolod, and Dr. Lilia Faigmane for the University of Perpetual Help System. (Luisa A. Gelisan, OC)
