UP Goes Interactive

Lectures at the University of the Philippines are now interactive! Organized by the University of the Philippines Diliman Interactive Learning Center, lectures are web cast and can be accessed through http://www.dilc.upd.edu.ph

“Political Obligation and Legitimacy: Hobbes, Locke and Rousseau,” by Prof. Carolina G. Hernandez, PhD, is scheduled on 02 August 2006, from 10am-12nn.

Undergraduate students enrolled in Social Science 2 are the prime targets of the lecture series, but all UP students, faculty, staff and the general public can interact with the lecturers. Social Science 2 is part of UP’s general education program. The lecture series is open to and the general public.

Students will assemble on the set time at the various UP campuses---UP Manila, UP Baguio, UP Los Baños, UP Visayas (Ilo-ilo, Miag-ao, and Tacloban campuses), UP Davao, UP Cebu, and UP Open University. Students from these campuses will interact during the question and answer portion of the lecture. UPOU students based locally and abroad will be able to participate in the online Q&A.

The UPOU Multimedia Center assists in the webstreaming of the online lecture. Former UP President Francisco Nemenzo, Dr Felipe Miranda, Dr Randolph David, and Dr Lydia Casambre are among previous speakers in this Lecture Series. Moderator for the lectures is Prof. Malaya Ronas. The main lecture is held at the Multimedia Lecture Hall of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, of the UP Diliman College of Engineering.
