364 participate in the DE National Conference

 

 

Three hundred sixty four professionals, members of the academe, and distance learning advocates from 97 institutions participated in the Third National Conference on Open and Distance Learning held at the Traders Hotel, Manila Philippines. Seventy institutions are in Luzon, 12 in the Visayas, 9 in Mindanao, and 6 are based overseas. The six international institutions include I CLON Graduate School of Teaching, Leiden University of the Netherlands; Don Bosco Technical School in Cambodia; Global Open Food and Agriculture University in India, Manchester Metropolitan University in UK, SNDT Women’s University in India; and the University of Croatia in Romania.

Dr. Grace Javier Alfonso, the incoming Chancellor of the UPOU, was the conference keynote speaker at the opening of conference yesterday, 23 February 2007.

The conference aimed to foster effective distance learning practice through the sharing of knowledge, skills, and developments among training individuals. (Luisa A. Gelisan, OC).
