UP Open University holds entrance examinations in August


For the second semester of school year 2007-2008, the University of the Philippines Open University will accept new students for the Associate in Arts and the Master of Public Management programs. Dr. Melinda Bandalaria, the University Registrar, said that the entrance examinations for the said programs will be held on 18 August 2007 (Saturday) in three UPOU Learning Centers: UPOU Learning Center in Diliman, Quezon City; UPOU Learning Center in UP College Cebu, Cebu City and UPOU Learning Center in UP Mindanao, Davao City.


    All interested applicants should mail their applications and other requirements to the Office of the University Registrar, UP Open University, Los Baños, Laguna before 31 July 2007. The application forms are available in all UPOU Learning Center and can also be downloaded from the UPOU website: www.upou.net.


    The Associate in Arts (AA) program is a 60-unit liberal arts program at the undergraduate level. Graduates of AA are qualified to pursue a Bachelor’s degree, whether in the sciences or the arts. While the Master of Public Management program is designed for policy makers, administrators, and managers of public, private, and nongovernment organizations; practitioners in local government and administration; and other individuals interested in good governance, public policy and administration. Since all courses are offered through distance mode, students can pursue their studies anytime and anywhere.
