UP Board of Regents appoints new UPOU Deans

The UP Board of Regents recently approved the appointments of Dr. Nemah N. Hermosa and Dr. Ma. Fe V. Mendoza as Deans of the Faculty of Education (FEd) and Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS), respectively.
Dr. Hermosa, who is on her second term as FEd Dean, is also faculty-in-charge, tutor, writer, editor, instructional designer, and program chair in the UPOU. She is concurrently appointed as Professor at the College of Education, UP Diliman where she teaches education courses in both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Dr. Hermosa finished her PhD in Education, with major cognates in Psychology and Comparative Literature, and her Master of Arts in Teaching at the College of Education, University of the Philippines Diliman. She took up her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at the Bicol University where she graduated Cum Laude.
Dr. Mendoza is Associate Professor of Public Administration at the National College of Public Administration and Governance (NCPAG), UP. She teaches courses both at the undergraduate and graduate programs in the fields of public policy, public enterprise, development and governance.
Dr. Mendoza is a PhD in Public Administration graduate from the University of the Philippines Diliman; and a Master in Development Studies (major in Public Policy and Administration) from the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, The Netherlands. She also holds a Master of Arts in Demography from the University of the Philippines Population Institute, Manila. Her Bachelor of Science in Education is from the Philippine Normal College, Manila, where graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Prior to her, appointment as FMDS Dean, Dr. Mendoza had served as writer, faculty-in-charge, tutor, and program chair for the Master of Public Management Program.
Dr. Hermosa will serve as Dean from 1 January 2007 to 31 December 2009, while Dr. Mendoza will be Dean from 1 April 2007 to 21 March 2010. (Luisa A. Gelisan, OC).
