Multimedia Approach to Teaching English starts on 12 April
The UP Open University will start classes for Multimedia Approach to Teaching English (MATE) for its second batch of enrollees on 12 April 2008. The face-to-face sessions, to be held for four consecutive Saturdays, will be conducted at the UPOU Multimedia Center, CICT Bldg, UP Diliman.
MATE is a nonformal course designed for learners to extensively practice speaking and writing in English. The course intends to achieve the following:
- to develop the communicative skills of participants to effectively take part in situations where the English language is used;
- to create scenarios that will allow learners to freely practice speaking the English language;
- to teach learners write in English in different multimedia formats;
- to tap into the writing and speaking creative potentials of the students; and
- to acquaint students with the use of multimedia in their everyday life.
