National Congress on ICT
The Third National ICTs in Basic Education Congress will be held on 10-11 September 2008 at the Waterfront Hotel, Cebu City, Philippines. The congress is themed "Teaching the Net Generation: Curriculum, Pedagogy, and the Challenge of 21st Century Learning." It is jointly organized by the Foundation for Information Technology (FIT-ED), the Department of Education (DepEd), and the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU).
The congress aims to encourage dialogue on the curricular and pedagogical issues that underpin ICT-enabled initiatives towards educational transformation; to showcase existing local and international good practice in ICT and curriculum integration; and to critically examine the implications of introducing ICT-enabled new pedagogies on teacher pre-service education and in-service training.
Teachers, educators, education policymakers, school heads, technology leaders, education technologists and researchers, as well as members of public, private, and non-government institutions working in the field of ICTs in basic education are invited to participate in the congress.
