Dr. De Villa is Dean of Faculty of Ed

The UP Board of Regents has approved the appointment of Dr. Ma Theresa L. De Villa as Dean of the Faculty of Education (FEd), UPOU from 1 June 2008 to 21 May 2011. Dr. De Villa is a Professor of Education and Communication Arts at the College of Education, UP Diliman. She was formerly a Principal of the UP Integrated School.
Dr. De Villa is a holder of a Bachelor of Science in Education degree, a Masters in Education (Teaching English as a Second Language), and a Doctor of Philosophy (major in Filipino: Translation Theory) degree, which she all earned from the University of the Philippines. She is also a graduate of the Diploma in Teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language from SEAMEO Regional Language Centre, Singapore.
Aside from teaching, Dean de Villa is also very active in undertaking research programs and in the UP Pahinungod Program; in fact she has served as Director of the Education Research Program and of the Oblation Volunteer Corps (Ugnayang Pahinungod). She is also a test administrator/supervisor of the UP College Admissions Test (UPCAT) and Supervising Teacher at the College of Education, UP Diliman.
In the field of distance education, Dr. De Villa has served the UPOU in various capacities. She has served as course writer, course reader, instructional designer, faculty-in-charge, and tutor of courses under the Diploma in Language and Literacy Education Program and under the Master of Arts in Education Program.
