The ASEAN Journal of Open and Distance Learning (AJODL) was officially launched on August 12, 2009 at the Legend Hotel in Kula Lumpur, Malaysia. AJODL is housed at the Open University Malaysia (OUM) but is a co-publication between Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University (STOU), the UP Open University (UPOU), and OUM.
Malaysian Minister of Higher Education Mohamed Khaled Nordin led the launching ceremony witnessed by Associate Professor Dr Pranee Sungkatavat, President of STOU, Prof. Dr. Anuwar Ali, President and Vice Chancellor of OUM, and Dr. Jean Saludadez, representative of Dr. Grace J. Alfonso, Chancellor of UPOU.
AJODL is a bi-annual academic publication that aims to provide a venue for the sharing of knowledge and experiences among open and distance learning (ODL) practitioners and researchers in ASEAN countries. Three papers from UPOU faculty members were featured in the maiden issue. These were:
