Colloquium on Distance Education
The Master of Distance Education (MDE) program of the UPOU Faculty of Education, in cooperation with the Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs, shall hold a colloquium/seminar series on the theme, "DE and the Disciplines", which will run from September to November 2009.
The series features theoretically informed and empirically grounded paper presentations on the relationship between distance education and the subject area disciplines covered by UPOU’s academic programs. The papers aim to explore how distance education theory and practice have contributed to the growth of the subject area disciplines and vice versa, as evidenced by pedagogical and curricular innovations, technological applications, research themes and approaches, disciplinal tensions and debates, and/or perspectives and philosophies.
Prof. Dinah Nadera and Prof. Sheila Bonito, both of the Faculty of Management and Development Studies, will give the first two presentations on 09 September 2009, 1:30-4:30 PM, at the UPOU AV Room, UPOU Headquarters in Los Banos.
