InWEnt and UPOU conduct face to face sessions on eLearning Development and Implementation
To prepare educators, trainers, and educational administrators on the utilization of information and communication technologies (ICT) and eLearning, InWent- Capacity Building International of Germany in cooperation with Common Sense, Austria and the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) conducted the face to face workshops of the eLearning Development and Implementation (eLDI) Asia program.
eLDI is an eight-month blended learning program that targeted participants from Africa and Asia. The participants had undergone a week-long face-to-face start-up workshop on May 2008; a seven-month online training from June 2008 to January 2009; and the final week-long face-to-face workshop held at the UPOU headquarters in Laguna on 2-6 February 2009. Under the program, they went through an in-depth training on Instructional Design, Content Development, Interactivity, eLearning Technology, eLearning Management, Tutoring for eLearning Communities. These gave the participants knowledge and skills on methodologies/technical tools and the skills needed for the analysis, planning, development, and implementation of eLearning training programs adapted to their working environment and needs.
Prof. Juvy Lizette Gervacio, a faculty member of the Faculty of Management and Development Studies-UPOU, the coordinator and facilitator of the eLDI Asia Workshop, announced that for 2009, the eLDI Program will be offered by the UPOU in cooperation with InWEnt. To formalize the partnership on this undertaking, the two institutions will sign a cooperation agreement during the anniversary celebration of UPOU on 26 February 2009 in its headquarters in Los Banos, Laguna.
