Health Promotion Expert advises UPOU

Dr. Gauden Galea, an international expert in health promotion, is assisting the Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS), UP Open University in the development of the Health Promotion course under the proposed Master of International Health (MIH) Program.
Dr Gauden Galea is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health of the United Kingdom and a public health physician by profession. He has a special interest and expertise in health promotion and in noncommunicable disease prevention and control. He has worked with the World Health Organization since 1998 having worked in health promotion and NCD prevention in the Western Pacific region, especially: the Pacific Island countries, Mongolia, China, Viet Nam and the Philippines, where he was based from 2000-2006.
On 14-18 December 2009, Dr. Galea visited the UP Open University to hold
meetings and writeshops with the members of the Task Force -- Dr. Dinah Nadera, Dr. Sheila Bonito, Prof. Patricia Arinto and Prof. Primo Garcia -- who are
developing the courses for MIH. Dr. Galea also had a meeting/briefing with
the Executive Board of the UPOU, led by its Chancellor, Dr. Grace
