The UP Open University is collaborating with the Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University (STOU), the Hanoi Open University (HOU) and the Universitas Terbuka (UT) on a research entitled "ASEAN Food Culture An Interdisciplinary Approach – Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, And Indonesia" which aims to study the relationships between ASEAN people and their food practices in order to enhance the mutual understanding across the countries to promote cross-cultural acceptance. ​UP President Danilo Concepcion has declared 21 September of every year as the UP Day of Remembrance (Proclamation No. 1, Series of 2018). This 2019, the main commemoration of the UP Day of Remembrance, titled “Dambana ng Paggunita at Pagtutuos sa Batas Militar ni Marcos,” will be held on Thursday, 19 September 2019, with pre-event (12-18 Sept) and post-event (20 Sept) activities. In celebration of the ASEAN Week, the ASEAN Studies Graduate Program wishes to invite you to the ASEAN Studies Lecture Series  on 9 August 2019, 2:30 p.m. at the Audio-Visual Room, UP Open University Headquarters, Los Baños, Laguna. Dr. Gisela P. The UP Open University is now accepting applicants for the UP Presidential Scholarship Grant effective 1st Trimester AY2019-2020. Only one slot is available. Undergraduate students (except freshmen) with a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 1.75 are eligible to apply for this grant. Interested students may download the application form at the Office of Student Affairs website. Further information and other requirements can be found also on the website.
