False information has increased exponentially on various social media platforms especially with the upcoming national election on 9 May 2022. For many Filipinos, social media has become their primary source of news. As the cyber campus of the University of the Philippines (UP), the UP  Open University (UPOU) has united with Tsek.ph to make sure that misinformation and disinformation circulating the online highways are fact-checked.  Tsek.ph is a collaborative fact-checking project for the 2022 Philippines’ election. The term of the incumbent Deans of the University of the Philippines Open University Faculty of Information and Communication Studies (FICS) and Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS) are soon to draw to a close.  Both Dr. Alexander G. This celebration carries the theme “University of the Future: Reimaginations, Reconfigurations, Realizations.” The 27th Anniversary Program will be held virtually in the morning of the 23rd. The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Chancellor, Dr. Melinda dela Peña Bandalaria, has appointed Dr. Diego Silang S. Maranan as the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) for the Office of Student Affairs (OSA).  Dr. Maranan holds a doctorate degree in Art and Media as a Marie Curie Fellow at the Plymouth University, United Kingdom. He is an Associate Professor of the UPOU Faculty of Information and Communication Studies (FICS) and is the current Program Chair for the Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Studies. On 24 January 2022, the University of the Philippines Open University  (UPOU) Provisional Committee (ProvComm) had its first meeting with UPOU Chancellor Melinda dela Peña Bandalaria. Present during the meeting were five ProvComm members led by the ProvComm Chairperson Isaiah Crisanto, Office of Public Affairs (OPA) Director Joane Serrano, Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS) Dean Primo Garcia, and UP Student Regent Renee Louise Co.
