With the theme "STEM Education Towards Education 4.0", 14 scholars of the Department of Science and Technology - Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) who are currently enrolled in the PhD in Education program offered by the Faculty of Education (FEd), University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) participated in the 5th National Research Conference in Science and Mathematics Education (NRCSME) on 28 February - 1 March 2019 at Oriental Hotel, Legazpi City, Albay. The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) held a Capability Building Program on Distance eLearning at Ifugao State University, Nayon, Lamut, Ifugao on 2-3 April 2019 as part of their Cascading Best Practices Program, which aims to help capacitate other higher education institutions (HEIs) in utilizing technology in their mode of instruction. The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) of the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU), together with the Guidance and Counseling Division of the Office of Student Affairs, UP Los Banos (UPLB), conducted Life Coaching Seminar-Workshops on 11 and 18 March 2019.
