Four UP Open University (UPOU) faculty members, headed by Chancellor Melinda Dela Peña Bandalaria, visited Kanazawa, Japan last 31 January to 3 February 2017, to take part in various research forums and courtesy visits in relation to the Ifugao Satoyama Meister Training Program (ISMTP). A new building is set to rise on the UP Open University (UPOU) campus in Los Baños, Laguna – the UPOU Teaching and Learning Hub (TLH). In the advent of UPOU's celebration of its 22nd Anniversary, a time capsule was buried and the first sod was turned leading to the construction of the TLH. At the 1324th UP Board of Regents' Meeting on 26 January 2017, Prof. Ricardo T. Bagarinao was appointed as the new Dean of the UP Open University (UPOU) Faculty of Education (FEd) effective 01 February 2017. His term will run until 31 January 2020.
