The Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS) of University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU), in celebration of the annual Zero Waste Month in January 2024, launched the FMDS Adopt-A-Plot Program. UPOU Joins First Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill

The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) joined the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on 25 March 2024. The drill was led by the UPOU Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Committee and participated in by faculty and staff members at the UPOU Headquarters in Los Baños, Laguna, and its offices in Quezon City, Cebu, and Davao. The drill aimed to assess the responsiveness of the existing disaster preparedness and contingency plans of the University. On 12 March 2024, a delegation of eleven faculty and administrators from the Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) visited the UP Open University (UPOU) at its headquarters in Los Baños, Laguna. On 6-8 March 2024, the University of the Philippine Open University (UPOU) showcased its offering of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) in an exhibit at the Charles Fuller Baker Memorial Hall, University of the Philippines Los Baños in Laguna. The exhibit was part of the 115th Foundation Day celebration of UPLB, with the theme “Expanding Horizons through Impactful Public Service.” UPOU MOOCs are short courses offered online for free and are open to everyone.
