The official blog site of the UP Open University (UPOU) returns this month with a renewed commitment to enhancing the public understanding of UPOU and to highlight its identity in diverse and engaging ways.  Formally launched in January 2018, the blog titled OpenUPConnect will continue to feature blogs on student stories, alumni and volunteer experiences, reflections, and tips on online learning, and student projects. The blog will also publish thought pieces and essays on open and distance elearning, sustainability, and wellness. Assistant Professor Margaret Suarez Appointed as New Faculty Secretary

July 2025 – Assistant Professor Margaret J. Suarez has been appointed as the new Faculty Secretary of the Faculty of Information and Communication Studies (FICS), succeeding Assistant Professor Joyce Mae Manalo-Vega. The transition comes as Assistant Professor Vega embarks on her doctoral studies through the UP x UTS Doctoral Program Collaboration starting this July. Before joining the FICS faculty, Assistant Professor Suarez served as University Researcher, where she contributed to institutional development and championed inclusive, accessible education.
