UPOU Conducts Referendum for Student Constitution

The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) conducted a referendum for the ratification of the UPOU Student Constitution on 18 - 22 April 2022.  The voting period was  extended until 30 April 2022 upon the approval of the UP Student Regent to allow more students to participate.  Students voted through the newly established student affairs platform aptly called Tagpuan. The approval of the UPOU Student Constitution allows for its sanction and implementation, thereby ensuring genuine student representation and upholding the student's rights through the creation of the student council and various student organizations. Ms. Ma. Elma L. Mirandilla, Lecturer of the  Faculty of Management and Development (FMDS) – Master of Arts in Nursing (MAN) Program, won the Best Oral Presenter at the 14th Manila Doctors College of Nursing Research Congress held last 11 May 2022. On 22 April 2022,  the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) ColLaboratoire Fellows presented the outcome of the research projects in a webinar titled “Radical Pluridisciplinarity for Sustainable Development: Outcomes from the ColLaboratoire 2020.” These outcomes are the result of a week-long research residency on Cognitive Innovation for Sustainable Development dubbed ColLaboratoire. The digital humanities project titled: “The Pope and COVID-19: Digital Humanities on the Roman Catholic Church” of Mr. Peter D. Breboneria II, a second-year student of the Associate in Arts (AA) program, was recently awarded 2nd runner-up under the special category: Best DH Response to COVID-19 of the 2021 Digital Humanities Awards.
