The UP Open University gathered for the Annual General Assembly at the UPOU Headquarters last 20 December 2022.  The hybrid event convened around 253 UPOU employees and staff to hear about the progress and achievements of UPOU for the year 2022. The newly-elected members of the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) University Student Council (USC) gathered for their Oath-taking Ceremony on 16 December 2022, in a hybrid setup. Some attendees were present in person at the UPOU Headquarters' Audio Visual Room, while others attended virtually via Zoom. Dr. Ricardo T. Bagarinao, Dean of the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Faculty of Education (FEd), presented his units’ accomplishments in a public forum held last 13 December 2022. His six-year term will end on 31 January 2023. Dr. Bagarinao highlighted the revision of the curriculum of FEd programs, the writing bootcamp, and the research colloquium as part of the faculty’s research journeys. The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) held its 26th Commencement Exercises on 10 December 2022, at 5:00 p.m. at the UPOU Oblation Plaza. The momentous occasion marked the return of UPOU's annual tradition of holding face-to-face graduation rites for its graduates. As the pandemic restriction eases, the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) held an in-person Ceremonial March for the graduates of academic year (AY) 2019-2020 and AY 2020-2021 on 10 December 2022, at the UPOU Headquarters located in Los Baños, Laguna. In total, 279 graduates were able to attend the ceremony, of which 74 were from the Faculty of Education (FEd), 79 were from the Faculty of Information and Communication Studies (FICS), and 126 were from the Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS). The Agham + Sining: UP Innovation and Knowledge Festival 2022 was held last 28-29 November 2022 at the University of the Philippines Bonifacio Global City (UP BGC). The event showcased research projects and technological innovations in UP.
