Dr. Ria Mae Borromeo appointed as new Director of UPOU ICTDO

Dr. Ria Mae Borromeo, Assistant Professor of the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Faculty of Information and Communication Studies (FICS), was appointed as the new Director of the UPOU Information and Communication Technology Development Office (ICTDO) effective 3 January 2019 until 31 July 2019. She succeeded Asst. Prof. Al Francis Librero who led the office for more than 11 years and who is currently on study leave for his PhD degree. UPOU-PLDT Infoteach Outreach Program receives the Anvil Silver Award for Outstanding Education Program

The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) collaborative project with the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) entitled "PLDT Infoteach Outreach Program" bagged an Anvil Silver Citation for Outstanding Education Program at the 54th Anvil Awards: Gabi ng Parangal held on 30 January 2019 at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Newport City. UPOU Employees undergo Data Privacy Officer Training Course

In keeping up with the Data Privacy Act (DPA) of 2012 (RA 10173), twenty-three University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) faculty, Research, Extension and Professional Staff (REPS), and administrative staff members underwent a 4-day Data Privacy Officer (DPO) Training Course.
