UP to Hold Election Workshop Series Supported by Google

MANILA, Philippines, February 9, 2022–The University of Philippines, through the university’s Office of the Vice President for Public Affairs and the Department of Journalism, will conduct the Philippines Elections Workshop Series for newsroom editors and journalists to ramp up knowledge on effective election coverage. UPOU to Celebrate 27th Year

The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) will be celebrating its 27th founding anniversary on 23 February 2022. This celebration carries the theme “University of the Future: Reimaginations, Reconfigurations, Realizations.” The 27th Anniversary Program will be held virtually in the morning of the 23rd. Activities for the year prepared by various UPOU offices will be launched, and the winners of the Gawad Chancellor Award for Outstanding UPOU Personnel will be announced. Dr. Diego Maranan Appointed OIC of UPOU OSA

The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Chancellor, Dr. Melinda dela Peña Bandalaria, has appointed Dr. Diego Silang S. Maranan as the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) for the Office of Student Affairs (OSA).  Dr. Maranan holds a doctorate degree in Art and Media as a Marie Curie Fellow at the Plymouth University, United Kingdom. He is an Associate Professor of the UPOU Faculty of Information and Communication Studies (FICS) and is the current Program Chair for the Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Studies.
