UPOU Advances Discussions on Semiconductor Microcredential Program![]()
On 5 November 2025, the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) continued advancing its multi-sector collaboration for the proposed Semiconductor Microcredential Program. The meeting strengthened the collective work among partner institutions toward building a program that will prepare Filipino learners for internships and potential careers in Taiwan’s semiconductor industry.![]()
Building on the initial exploratory discussion held on 16 October 2025, the session focused on refining the program’s operational plans. Key discussion points included the development timeline, task assignments, partnership roles, integration with existing academic offerings, and other technical considerations needed to support a high-quality, industry-aligned microcredential.![]()
This ongoing initiative highlights the participating institutions’ commitment to co-creating innovative and globally collaborative learning opportunities through open and distance e-learning (ODeL), especially in fields that require strong international linkages and industry engagement.![]()
Attending the meeting were partners and representatives Kaohsiung Medical University and Edu-Connect Southeast Asia Association; Lai Pen Yuan Foundation; Monte Jade Science & Technology Association of Shenzhen; Technological University of the Philippines; and the University of the Philippines National College of Public Administration and Governance.![]()
