The call for nominations for the next FICS Dean of the UP Open University (UPOU) has been released. Dr. Alexander G. Flor, the incumbent FICS Dean of UPOU, will be ending his term on 31 March 2022. The nomination is open to all faculty and staff members, students and alumni of UPOU. As part of the search process, the presentation of the accomplishments of the incumbent Dean will be held on 15 February 2022. Dr. Diego Maranan Appointed OIC of UPOU OSA
The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Chancellor, Dr. Melinda dela Peña Bandalaria, has appointed Dr. Diego Silang S. Maranan as the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) for the Office of Student Affairs (OSA). Dr. Maranan holds a doctorate degree in Art and Media as a Marie Curie Fellow at the Plymouth University, United Kingdom. He is an Associate Professor of the UPOU Faculty of Information and Communication Studies (FICS) and is the current Program Chair for the Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Studies. UPOU ProvComm meets with the Chancellor on Setting up Student Council and Student Organizations
On 24 January 2022, the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Provisional Committee (ProvComm) had its first meeting with UPOU Chancellor Melinda dela Peña Bandalaria. Present during the meeting were five ProvComm members led by the ProvComm Chairperson Isaiah Crisanto, Office of Public Affairs (OPA) Director Joane Serrano, Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS) Dean Primo Garcia, and UP Student Regent Renee Louise Co.
