The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Faculty of Education (FEd) conducted the 10th EDUkussion Forum on Research Journeys last 28 January 2021 via Zoom. With the topic, “Online Convoes on the Birth of Research (Part I),” the webinar invited FEd students and program chairs from the Graduate Certificate/Master of Distance Education (GC/MDE), Diploma/Master of Arts in Literacy and Language Education (D/MLLE), and Diploma/Master of Arts in Social Studies Education (D/MSSE) programs as well as graduate students from other UPOU programs and tertiary level institutions. UPOU contributes to developing the Benchmarking Framework and Data Set for Online, Open, Smart, and Technology-Enhanced Higher Education

The University of Philippines Open University (UPOU) joined the international benchmarking consortium led by Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) in the development of the Benchmarking Framework and Data Set for Online, Open, Smart, and Technology-Enhanced Higher Education. Dr.  Melinda dela Pena Bandalaria, UPOU Chancellor, supported the initiative and delegated Dr. Primo G. Garcia, Dean of the UPOU Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS) to be part of the Technical Working Group (TWG). UPOU Celebrates Partners and Launches 2021 Programs during the 26th Anniversary Celebration

The 26th Anniversary of the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) is an earmark in history, as the first anniversary to be held virtually, and the most heartfelt, perhaps. The event carried the theme “The University of the Future: Sustainability and Agility Amidst Disruption.”  Dr. Melinda dela Peña Bandalaria, UPOU Chancellor, focused her welcome speech on inclusion in education that required the flexibility and agility of institutions “to make sure that learning continues even without coming to schools”  and address barriers through sustainability in education. Boone as the resource speaker. UPOU Recognizes Exemplary Faculty and Staff

In celebration of the UP Open University (UPOU) 26th Anniversary, with the theme “The University of the Future: Sustainability and Agility Amidst Disruption,” UPOU recognized exemplary faculty members, Research, Extension and Professional Staff (REPS),  and administrative staff during its anniversary day. The UPOU Family Day was held virtually in the afternoon of 23 February 2021. Chancellor Melinda dela Peña Bandalaria delivered a brief opening message and expressed gratitude to the attendees of the occasion. UPOU joins Open Education Week 2021 and launches OpenTalk

Open Education Week is celebrated every March of each year. The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) is one with the world in celebrating this event as part of its  advocacy for open education. This 2021, it will be held on 1 to 5 March 2021 and UPOU has lined up activities in celebration of Open Education Week 2021. First on the list is OpenTalk, a new magazine program that will be launched on 3 March 2021.
