The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS) has taken a significant step towards digitalizing Laguna's local communities. On August 22, 2024, the FMDS' Barangay Digital Transformation Hub Initiative, in partnership with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Laguna and Concentrix Philippines, began distributing donated computers to its partner barangays. The University of the Philippines Open University Faculty of Management and Development Studies (UPOU FMDS) spearheaded the turnover ceremony for digital transformation hubs in Laguna barangays on 1 July 2024 to mark a new initiative in developing barangay digital transformation hubs.
