The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) has opened the newest of its programs, the Associate of Science in Instructional Design and Technology (ASIDT), created to provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to design and develop effective digital learning materials. The program enables the students to enter a career of educational work in Instructional Design without compromising their opportunity to pursue higher studies at the baccalaureate level.

ASIDT aims to equip students with the tools and techniques needed to create engaging and interactive learning experiences, using a range of digital technologies. The two-year program, consisting of 72 units, covers various topics, including instructional design theory, e-learning development, multimedia design, communication, and project management.

This program is delivered entirely online, allowing students to learn flexibly and conveniently. Like other UPOU degree programs, teaching and learning happen through a learning management system called MyPortal, powered by Moodle. Upon finishing the program, graduates are expected to be able to pursue careers as instructional designers, training associates, e-learning developers, multimedia specialists, and other related positions.

Application for admission to the Associate of Science in Instructional Design and Technology program is now open for 1st Trimester AY 2023-2024. To apply, visit the UPOU OUR Website.
