UP Open University led by Chancellor Melinda dela Peña Bandalaria, welcomed visitors from the University of Liverpool (UoL) on June 26, 2023. The meeting focused on discussing how UPOU administered its online courses, including the preparation of online resources, identification of learning facilitators, and other related capabilities. 

Other UPOU officials in attendance included Dr. Joane V. Serrano, Dean of the Faculty of Management and Development Studies; Dr. Ricardo T. Bagarinao, Director of the Center for Open and Digital Teaching and Learning (CODTL); Dr. Myra C. Almodiel, Director of the Office of Public Affairs (OPA); Asst. Professor Mari Anjeli Crisanto, Director of the Quality Assurance Office (QAO); Ms. Margaret Jarmin-Suarez, Program Development Associate for Institutional Linkages; and Asst. Prof. Ana Katrina Marcial, Program Chair of GCDE/MDE, Faculty of Education (FEd). 

The UoL delegation consisted of Dr. Susan Bolt, Head of Academic Development at The Academy, UoL; Dr. Laura Hills, Academic Developer at The Academy, UoL; and Deputy Director Ida Kemp of Kaplan Open Learning. They were accompanied by Dr. Tonette P. Laude, Program Development Associate, and Mr. Kevin John R. Lino, Senior Community Relations Associate from the University of the Philippines Los Baños Office of International Linkages (UPLB OIL).

This activity is part of UPOU’s initiative to explore areas of cooperation and linkages with local and international institutions.

A lantern that blends tradition, sustainability, and technologyThis coming Christmas season, we look back at UPOU student Sherry Mae Alcano’s “NINGNING” star lantern.
