The 7th Congress of the Asian Association of Women’s Studies (CAAWS) 2025 will be held on 6-7 November 2025, onsite at the UP Open University (UPOU) in Los Baños, Laguna, and online.
Hosted by UPOU’s Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS) and Office of Gender Concerns (OGC), this year’s congress carries the theme “Empower, Sustain, Democratize: Asian Women’s Journey at the Intersection of Change.” It aims to bring together feminist scholars, advocates, and practitioners across Asia to explore pressing issues affecting women’s lives and agency in the region.
Interested participants are invited to submit abstracts of no more than 250 words through the official platform, Indico, starting 4 July 2025. The deadline for abstract submissions is 15 August 2025, at 11:59 PM (Asia/Manila time). Submissions will only be accepted through Indico, and authors are required to create an account to complete the process.
The 7th CAAWS 2025 will serve as a platform to exchange insights and experiences on women’s empowerment, sustainability, and democratization in diverse Asian contexts. Accepted abstracts will be presented during the two-day congress and may be considered for publication in future proceedings or partner journals.
CAAWS continues to play a critical role in shaping the discourse on women’s studies in Asia. With its interdisciplinary approach, the 2025 congress aims to foster deeper collaboration and knowledge-sharing across fields such as gender, health, education, policy, and development.
