The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) proudly celebrates one of its alumnae, Rojhelea An Marie Claur, a Master of Social Work (MSW) graduate, who was honored in the 2025 Civil Service Commission–Cordillera Administrative Region (CSC–CAR)’s Gawad Lingkod Bayani held in Baguio City on 29 September 2025.

Claur, who now serves as Social Welfare Officer IV at the Department of Social Welfare and Development–CAR (DSWD–CAR), received the Gawad Dangal ng Bayan for her integrity, dedication, and exemplary performance in public service. Her recognition is a testament to the values and competencies instilled through her academic training and professional practice, reflecting UPOU’s mission of producing socially responsible leaders and practitioners in the field of social work.

The awarding ceremony, themed “Pagpupugay at Pasasalamat”, also recognized other outstanding civil servants in the Cordillera region under the Gawad Pagasa, Gawad Lingkod Pangulo, and Gawad Dangal ng Bayan categories.

CSC–CAR Regional Director Fernando Mendoza and Assistant Regional Director Ruben Wacas led the ceremony, lauding Claur and her fellow awardees as role models of good governance and champions of public service.

UPOU-FMDS takes pride in Claur’s achievement, affirming that its MSW graduates continue to create meaningful impact in communities by upholding the principles of service, professionalism, and compassion for the Filipino people.
