Ms. Rhonna Marie Verena is the Director of the newly established UPOU Ugnayan ng Pahinungod Office.

Ms. Rhonna Marie Vereña, a University Researcher in the Faculty of Education (FEd), University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) has been appointed on 6 June 2019 as the Director of the newly established UPOU Ugnayan ng Pahinungod Office.

Director Verena said that the programs that shall be undertaken by UPOU Pahinungod Office are still being firmed-up. As an initial step, the Pahinungod Office is now conducting an inventory of its existing partners, available resources, and profiles of current students and alumni. The office shall also review existing university activities that can be classified as UPOU’s Pahinungod projects.

Ms. Vereña started working with UPOU in 1996 as University Research Associate for the project Alternative Approach for Faculty Development Program for Science Education via Distance Education Mode under the Office of the Chancellor. In 1999, she became a tenured University Research Associate under the FEd. On top of research undertaking and provision of various teaching and learning support services to faculty members, affiliate faculty members, and students, she is also involved in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of various extension/public service programs of the university.
