The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) and Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to install an off-site Automated Teller Machine (ATM) within the UPOU’s premises. The signing between the two parties was held on 9 June 2022 at the Office of the Chancellor Conference Room, UP Open University, Los Baños, Laguna, Dr. Melinda dela Peña Bandalaria, UPOU Chancellor, and AVP Marcelina U. Babaan, LBP-UPLB Branch Head represented each institution and signed the agreement. UPOU Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration, Dr. Jean A. Saludadez, UPOU HRDO Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Michael P. Lagaya, Landbank Branch Operations Officer Ms. Rachel A. Espiritu and Landbank Customer Associate Mr. John Robin H. Alvarez signed as witnesses. Through this agreement, UPOU employees will have the convenience of cash transactions right on campus to ensure safety and easy access to their funds. The Land Bank of the Philippines is a government financial institution that strikes a balance in fulfilling its social mandate of promoting countryside development while remaining financially viable. LANDBANK is by far the largest formal credit institution in the rural areas. It also ranks among the top five commercial banks in the country in terms of deposits, assets and loans.

Strengthen disaster readiness!DRR-CCAM Committee Meets to Strengthen University ReadinessChancellor Joane Serrano led the meeting on Disaster Risk Reduction–Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation (DRR-CCAM), which focused on providing updates and facilitating the turnover to the new committee leadership.
