University of the Philippines  Open University (UPOU)  welcomed visitors from the Philippine Normal University (PNU) in a (hybrid) benchmarking activity on 28 July 2022.

The PNU team led by Prof. Lovely Airein Albania, Deputy Dean of College of Flexible Learning was welcomed by Dr. Myra C. Almodiel, Director of Office of Public Affairs, Asst. Prof. Reinald Adrian D. Pugoy, Director of Information and Communication Technology Development Office, and Dir. Luisa Gelisan, Director of the Multimedia Center.

Asst. Prof. Reinald Adrian Pugoy discussed the setting up and management of MODeL, the online platform used by UPOU for its courses and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). He also discussed the practices of UPOU in its process of online teaching, learning, and assessment.

The team also witnessed the process of the Multimedia Center in conducting their webinars, assisted by Dir. Luisa Gelisan.

Other members of the visitor’s team were Web design Administrators of CFLeX Mr. Darrel Lariosa, Mr. Frank Joshua Duldulao, and Mr. Jerome Mallari; MIS Programmer Mr. Roxan Ormita; Mr. Dominador Mangao, Ms. Maria Ruth Regalado, Mr. Rafael Panganiban, Mr. Ronald Gime, and Ms. Selina Sarmiento.

This initiative is part of UP Open University’s efforts in public service toward the capacity building of open and distance learning teachers and practitioners in compliance with Republic Act No. 10650. Proper safety protocols were observed during this event.
