The Faculty of Information and Communication Studies (FICS) has named Assistant Professor Lei Kristoffer Lactuan as the new Chair of the Associate of Science in Information Technology (ASIT). He takes over from Dr. Reinald Adrian Pugoy, who served in the role until January 2026. Assistant Professor Lactuan brings with him a strong academic foundation in computer science and information technology. Bridging quality education with climate action, the Faculty of Information and Communication Studies (FICS)  formally launched its free Climate Information Services Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) on 30 January 2026 at the UPOU Headquarters, Los Baños, Laguna. The research team conducted a three-day data collection activity from 23–25 January 2026 in Calape, Bohol, as part of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-funded project titled “Participatory Approach in Assessing and Promoting Women-led Permaculture among Selected Permaculture Sites in the Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources (AANR) Sectors in the Philippines”. The activity aimed to gather qualitative and contextual data to better understand local governance dynamics, community participation, and women’s roles in permaculture initiatives in Calape, Bohol.
