The Master of ASEAN Studies thesis titled “Urban metabolism of ASEAN night markets based on biological principles” written by Arch. Maria Rallah Villaseca has recently been published by Elsevier through the open access journal City and Environment Interactions (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cacint.2020.100055). The publication  is an international and interdisciplinary rapid open access forum focusing on research on the urban environment from both the natural and social sciences.  The same paper was  accepted to the 6th ASIA Future Conference for August 2022. In celebration of the Art Month this  February, a UP Open University (UPOU) student and alumna, joins other artists in a month-long exhibit at the Sining Makiling Gallery of the University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB).  Genevieve “Pinky” Aguinaldo, is a graduate of UPOU’s Diploma in Language and Literacy Education (DLLE), and is currently in the thesis part of her Master of Language and Literacy Education (MLLE) program. The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) strongly supports the call of UP President Danilo L. Concepcion to uphold the UP-DND accord and expresses indignation and grave concern on the unilateral abrogation of the agreement.  We  believe that this accord safeguards the constitutionally guaranteed academic freedom of the university and provides a safe space for its constituents to freely express their thoughts,  ideologies and advocacies in various formats and platforms.
