The University of the Philippines (UP) Office of the Student Regent (OSR) in coordination with the UP Open University (UPOU) Office of Student Affairs (OSA) hosted the virtual Student Summit 2021 with the theme #SulongUP: UP Fight Back. UPOU IREC participated in the Online Training Workshop on Ethics in Human-Participant Research hosted by the Philippine Social Science Council

The University of the Philippines Open University Institutional Research Ethics Committee (UPOU-IREC) participated in the Online Training Workshop on Ethics in Human-Participant Research on 4-7 May 2021 via Zoom. The workshop was organized by the  Philippine Social Science Council (PSSC), through its Social Science Ethics Review Board (SSERB). The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) participated in the  Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) Congress 2021 on  28 to 29 April 2021 as one of the supporting partners. The UP Open University, UPOU Foundation Inc., and Digital Freedom Network are now accepting participants for the third batch of the Certificate Course for Data Protection Officers (CCDPO) that will run from 07 June to 02 July, 2021. UP to Relive Historical Characters in Cosplay Competition

The University of the Philippines (UP), who takes part in the quincentennial celebration will bring to life some of the familiar persons involved that made history 500 years ago and beyond. This will be done in a unique contest, a cosplay competition. Costume play, otherwise known as cosplay, is the practice of dressing up as a character.
