The 4th International Conference on Open and Distance e-Learning (ICODeL 2021) has revealed the line up of plenary speakers for the virtual conference that will be held on 13-15 October 2021. The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Office of Gender Concerns (OGC) conducted a webinar on Gender-responsive and Feminist Research on 3 June 2021, 2PM to 5PM.   Dr. Nathalie Africa-Verceles, Director for the UP Center for Women’s and Gender Studies, was Resource Person of the webinar. Dr. Africa-Verceles discussed the basics of engendering research, considerations in related literature, methodology, and theoretical frameworks. #Y4IRT publishes 15 books

The project “Youth Capacity Building and Exchange Program toward Sustainable Development and Conservation of Ifugao Rice Terraces” or #Y4IRT of the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS) published 15 books on the Ifugao Rice Terraces (IRT) as a Satoyama landscape. All 15 books were published by the UPOU, funded by Mitsui & Co. Ltd. Environment Fund and the Satoyama Development Mechanism.  These books characterize the IRT’s ecological interactions, traditions and culture, and current conservation issues and approaches. The Second Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill for 2021 was held on 8 June 2021 and UP Open University (UPOU) actively participated in the activity. The seventh episode of the University of the Philippines Open University’s (UPOU) OPEN Talk featured a discussion on depression and anxiety. The OPEN Talk Episode entitled “Para-Paraan Yan!” was held on 19 May 2021 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM via live streaming. This OPEN Talk episode featured another discussion on teaching reading during remote learning.
