The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) has named Ms. Yasele Irene Angela Yambao as the first Director of the UPOU Office of Student Affairs (OSA). She will hold office for the period of 01 April 2018 to 31 March 2021. Director Yambao has a Masters of Management degree and Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Management from UP Los Baños. As part of the public service thrust of the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU), the Faculty of Information and Communication Studies (FICS) and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration (OVCFA) held the Annual UPOU Blood Donation drive on 6 April 2018 at the UPOU Oblation Hall, Los Baños. For this year, the UPOU was able to collect 67 bags of blood for the blood donation drive. Ms. Louise Mabulo, an Associate in Arts (AA) student of the Faculty of Education, University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU), received a recognition as an Outstanding Campus Ambassador in the 2018 United Nations Winter Youth Assembly held on February 14-16, 2018 at the UN Headquarters, New York City, USA. The Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS) celebrated National Women's Month with a Let's Talk It Over (LTIO) lecture on Situating Women in the Economy and Environment on 27 March 2018 to discuss the role of women in two important sectors of society: the economy and environment.
