Mr. Danilo L. Concepcion, President of the University of the Philippines (UP) system, visited the headquarters of the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) in Los Baños, Laguna on 18 October 2021. The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU), in collaboration with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), trained over 1,000 teachers on flexible learning through the capability building program “Gearing up for the Next Normal: Training of Teachers on Flexible Learning." The newly trained teachers were also equipped to develop their own Teacher-Training Program to be the lead trainers of the said topic in their respective institutions. The third and final day of the 4th International Conference on Open and Distance e-Learning (ICODeL 2021) opened with Special Session 3: Special Session on Gender Considerations in e-Learning, where six studies were presented. Prof. Queenie Roxas-Ridulme, a faculty member from the Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS), University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) is the newly-appointed Director of the Ugnayan ng Pahinungód UPOU effective 1 October 2021.
