The Faculty of Information and Communication Studies (FICS) of the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) held its virtual recognition and thanksgiving for the graduating class of 2020-2021, and 2019 on 18 December 2021, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 NN via Zoom.  Asst. The UP Open University (UPOU )Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS), through its Research and Publication Committee (RPC) held the 2021 FMDS Research Forum which was live-streamed via the official FMDS Facebook Page on 07 December 2021 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.  The Research Forum featured seven studies of students from the different graduate programs of FMDS. Ms. Miki Yobel I. Tolentino, a second-year student of the Associate in Arts (AA) program, participated in the ASEAN-Korea Youth Summit (AKYS) that was officially held from 10 – 13 August 2021 via online mode. With the theme, “Inclusion and Integration for the ASEAN-Korea Community”, Miki was given the opportunity to interact with the other nine delegates from the Philippines and meet several delegates from other nations, with whom she discussed the topic, “Inequality Reduction across Various Media Platforms: Towards Digital Inclusion” for which they were able to draft an overall recommendation. University of the Philippines Open University Chancellor, Dr. Melinda dela Peña Bandalaria, participated in the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) Network Policy Dialogue 2021 on 29 November  2021 via ZOOM. Three University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU)  students bag several awards in the 7th National Research Conference in Science and Mathematics Education (NRCSME) held by the Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI).
