Celebrating Excellence UPOU Gawad Chancellor Awardees Recognized

As part of its  30th anniversary celebration on 28 February 2025, UP Open University (UPOU)  honored individuals with the Gawad Chancellor Award for their exemplary performance and dedication: 

Mr. Aljay S. Buenviaje was awarded as Outstanding Administrative Staff (Level I) while Mr. John Benvers A. Malabanan was honored as Outstanding Administrative Staff (Level II): Ms. Dona Lyn M. Piamonte received the Outstanding Research, Extension and Personnel Staff (REPS) award. Dr. Finaflor F. Taylan was named as Outstanding Faculty.

The awards were conferred by the former Chancellor, Dr. Melinda dP. Bandalaria, who recognized the recipients’ remarkable contributions to efficiency, research, innovation, and service excellence within the UPOU community.

The Gawad Chancellor is the highest form of recognition conferred by UPOU to exceptional individuals within the institution. This prestigious award is given annually to faculty members, REPS, and administrative personnel who have demonstrated remarkable dedication, innovation, and excellence in their respective fields.

By honoring these outstanding contributions, UPOU strengthens its mission of promoting quality education through open and distance learning (ODL) and cultivating a culture of leadership and service excellence.
