Professor Curtis J Bonk

Professor Curtis J. Bonk, an expert in Psychology and Technology-Enhanced Teaching and Learning from Indiana University will serve as one of the plenary speakers during the 3rd International Conference on Open and Distance e-Learning (ICODeL) to be held on 26-28 November 2018 at the Garden Villa Hotel, Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

Drawing on his solid background and credentials, Prof. Bonk received various awards such as Online Learning Journal Outstanding Research Achievement Award in Online Education from Online Learning Consortium in 2017, AECT Division of Distance Learning (DDL) Distance Education Book Award in 2016, Outstanding Contribution to eLearning, Global TechLearn Congress and Awards on the same year, and recipient of the Mildred B. and Charles A. Wedemeyer Award for Outstanding Practitioner in Distance Education Award in 2014, and various awards related to online teaching and learning. In 1999, Prof. Bonk founded the CourseShare, a company which aims to enhance faculty and student teaching and learning as well as facilitate communication and collaboration over the internet. As evident to his various publications on technology-mediated learning, online and blended learning, Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCS) and speaking engagements on topics related to distance education, Prof. Bonk is one of the world’s leading advocates in distance education.

The ICODeL2018, with the theme “Technology-Enhanced and Inclusive Education in the Digital Age“, provides a venue for distance education and e-learning scholars, practitioners and policy makers to share and reflect on experiences, and collaboratively create and explore spaces and possibilities for open, distance and e-learning for development.
