The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Faculty of Information and Communication Studies (FICS) continues its quarterly tradition of knowledge and skills-sharing with topics ranging from professional to personal development. For the second quarter of 2022, Ms. Jennifer Pareja, administrative officer of FICS, talked about “Basic Records Management”, on 28 April 2022. She shared her experiences as a longtime employee of UP Open University that might help others to organize their files more efficiently. She also discussed the correct process of naming and organizing files to avoid missing files, or unnecessary clutter, considering that we have a limited space that should be utilized well.

“I didn’t know that there is a proper way of naming computer files,” said Ms. Jessa Feria, one of the FICS staff members. She stated that this newfound knowledge could be applied in organizing her files better. After her presentation, the participants conveyed the usefulness and relevance of the topic, especially now that the FICS is transitioning to work in a new office space.

The 2nd Quarter Meetups was attended by 12 FICS Research Assistants and REPS. This serves as a “kumustahan” space, as well as a platform to empower each other with personal and professional growth through knowledge and skill-sharing.
