Patricia Calora and Yrelle Lleva, Research Assistants of the the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Faculty of Information and Communication Studies (FICS), were among the finalists for best paper award at the recently held International Conference on Open and Distance eLearning (ICODeL). The ICODeL2018 was held on 26-28 November at the Garden Villa Hotel, Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

Their paper entitled “Evaluating the Use and Acceptance of eLearning for Tertiary Education among Senior High School Students” examined the acceptance of Senior High School (SHS) students for eLearning technologies. The two researchers expressed their gratitude and interest toward joining other academic conferences, not only to enhance their research and academic skills but also to add to the existing body of knowledge.

The UPOU, together with the National University of Kaohsiung and the Open University of Kaohsiung spearheaded the international conference themed “Technology-Enhanced and Inclusive Education in the Digital Age.” ICODeL brought together academics, teachers, researchers, university and school administrators, policymakers, trainers, students, and other education stakeholders from the different parts of the globe, to discuss how technology can be tapped for quality education, and promote industry and academe partnership to develop leaders and professionals that can thrive in an open and rapidly changing world.
