FMDS Faculty Presents Paper on Rural Regeneration in Korea

Dr. Consuelo Habito, Professor at the UP Open University (UPOU), and former Program Chair of the Master of Environment and Natural Resources Management (MENRM) program, attended the 2023 Association for Asian Studies (AAS) in Asia Conference from 24th to 27th of June 2023 at the Kyungpook National University in Daegu, Korea.

Prof. Habito presented a paper titled “Assessing the Implementation of the Ruritage-Funded Documentation of the Ifugao Traditional Houses As Springboards of Rural Regeneration.” She presented her paper as part of the panel session, “These Troubled Villages: Contention and Conflict with Cultural Memory.” Other presenters in the same panel were Dr. Jovita Zarate, a Senior Lecturer of the UPOU Faculty of Education, and Prof. Jose Taton Jr. of UP Visayas in Iloilo.

Around 1200 academicians and scholars from around the globe presented their studies on Asian culture, heritage, and the arts at the 2023 AAS in Asia Conference. The event was collectively organized by the Program Committee at Kyungpook National University in Daegu, Korea.
