The Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS) of the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) is hosting one of the first UPOU Exchange Fellowship Program Recipient this November 2017. Dr. Bo Yang, a lecturer from the School of City Management at the Beijing Open University (BJOU) in China worked on his research entitled "Quality Assurance System Operation of BJOU and UPOU: A Comparative Study" in collaboration with with Dr. Joane V. Serrano, Associate Professor from FMDS.
As part of the leading institution of open learning and distance education in the country, FMDS acknowledges Dr. Bo Yang's conduct of research in blended form – a combination of online and face-to-face collaboration.

Dr. Yang's study aimed to examine the internal quality assurance systems on programs and institutional processes of BJOU and UPOU; examined the cycle of planning, implementation, assessment, and transformation of institutional processes and programs; and identified the differences in terms of planning, implementation, assessment, and transformation of institutional processes and programs. Dr. Yang is expected to share his learning experiences as an exchange fellow and present highlights of his research finding at the end of the fellowship program. (JFDePasion-Guevarra)

The event is part of PRC's Blood Donor's Month celebration, in recognition of people and organizations who have voluntarily organized and given blood to save the lives of those in need.UPOU has been organizing a yearly blood donation drive in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross Laguna Chapter since 2012.
