The International Conference on Open and Distance eLearning (ICODeL 2023) and the International Symposium on Education and AI Convergence (ISEAC 2023) concluded on the third day of the Tri-Conference 2023. Awards, certificates, and prizes were granted to the recipients who presented the best papers and practices of the two conferences.

The Concentrix Innovation Excellence Award for Best Conference Paper was assessed based on clarity, content ability to answer questions and quality of writing. This was awarded to the paper entitled “Pandemic in Retrospect: Students’ Evaluation of Distance Education during the COVID -19 Pandemic,” written and presented by Maria Virginia Aguilar, Loreto Camiloza, Edwin Lineses, Rommel Mazo, and Roland Lorenzo Ruben. For another recognition, the Concentrix “Tech for Good” Best Practice Award was given to the paper entitled “Improving Tertiary Students’ Academic Performance and Appreciation of the Life and Works of Jose Rizal Course through Digital-based Biographical Museum Simulation” written and presented by Ernesto Bastida, Jr..

For the first ISEAC Hackathon, Team 5 - BantAI, won the Championship Award.

For the first ISEAC Hackathon, Team 5 – BantAI, won the Championship Award. Team 4 – TIP 2 – Morales et.al won the 2nd Place. And the Team 3 – Batangas State University achieved the 3rd Place.

The closing ceremony was concluded by the Chancellor of UP Open University, Dr. Melinda dela Peña Bandalaria, with her message of gratitude and encouragement. She highlighted the witness of the rebirth of the ICODeL this year in its 5th year and the start of the first ISEAC, held consecutively with ASEANale, giving rise to the pioneering Tri-Con in 2023.

Throughout the first 3 days of the Tri-Con, a total of 72 participants from 21 institutions took part in the Pre-Con, 236 participants from 64 institutions joined the ICODeL, and 65 paper presentations were heard. As for the first ISEAC, there were 67 participants, along with 11 individuals from 5 groups who participated in the Hackathon. Some of the conference’s participants are from 9 countries.

Chancellor Bandalaria ended the message by expressing thanks to the sponsors, partner organizations, plenary speakers, panel presenters, and the committee responsible for the success of the Tri-Conference.

ICODeL 2023 and ISEAC 2023 are part of the Tri-conference 2023 held from 21 to 25 August 2023, organized by UPOU in collaboration with the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), UPOU Foundation, Inc. (UPOUFI), and the Philippine Society for Distance Learning (PSDL). The Tri-conference includes the ICODEL 2023, International Symposium on Education and AI Convergence (ISEAC 2023), and the ASEANnale, which share the same theme: Sustainability in Education: Intersections, Ideation, Innovations.
