On May 7, 2024, the Immersive Open Pedagogies Research Program (IOP) continued its educational initiative with the second installment of the “Immersive Learning Workshop for Faculty and Staff” at the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), UP Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines.

Dr. Roberto Figueroa Jr., the esteemed director of the IOP Program, kicked off the session by delving into the fascinating realm of virtual reality (VR) tours and explaining the software applications essential for their creation.

Ms. Jessa Perez provided a comprehensive demonstration of the NearLife software platform, focusing on crafting interactive videos and VR. Notable participants, including distinguished guests from the National College of Public Administration and Governance (NCPAG), namely Mr. Lyndon Rom David and Mr. Francis Miguel Garcia, actively engaged in hands-on activities focused on crafting virtual reality tours using the platform.

Subsequently, Dr. Rob led an enlightening discussion on H5P, a versatile platform that empowers users to generate a diverse array of content types. From immersive 360-degree virtual tours to interactive videos and branching scenarios, H5P offers a plethora of creative possibilities for educational endeavors.

The workshop fostered an interactive and enriching environment, equipping participants with valuable insights and practical skills essential for leveraging immersive technologies in educational settings.
