To further promote mental health wellness and provide stress reduction techniques accessible to the general public, the Ugnayan ng Pahinungód University of the Philippines Open University conducted an online workshop on crocheting titled “Stitch Away Your Stress” on 28 February 2023 via Zoom.

The workshop was facilitated by Ms. Mary Meghan P. Perido, an entrepreneur, crochet maker and an alumna from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. During the session, Ms. Perido demonstrated some basic patterns of crochet and guided the participants by teaching them a step-by-step procedure of the craft.

Around 76 participants attended the online workshop. By the end of the live session, each of the participants shared their finished work.

The entire online workshop “Stitch Away Your Stress” will be made available at the Pahinungód microsite (pahinungod.upou.edu.ph) under the Stress Reduction Technique Series, and soon on the Pahinungód Mental Health Wellness Kalinga at Yakap (KaYa) mobile application.
