The University of the Philippines Ventures for International and Transformative Academia (UP VINTA) was met with strong interest following its presentation and participation in the Multi-Agency Service Caravan (MASC) organized by the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, on 22 November 2025. Bringing together key Philippine government agencies, the MASC served as an important platform that allowed UPOU to connect with Filipinos living and working in Thailand.

Over 40 overseas Filipinos approached the UP VINTA booth, with most inquiries coming from Filipino teachers. During the consultations, OFWs shared the increasing demands of professional regulations in the host country, underscoring the need for education-related graduate-level formal and non-formal programs. Their questions focused mainly on UPOU’s Professional Teaching Certification—particularly as a pathway to qualify for the Licensure Examination for Teachers—and the Master’s in Language and Literacy Education. Additional inquiries came from OFWs seeking information on the Free Tuition Act for their family members, as well as those interested in various lifelong learning opportunities.

Representing UPOU in the service caravan were Asst. Prof. Lloyd Lyndel Simporios, Asst. Prof. Ria Valerie Cabanes, and Prof. Myra Oruga. The delegation provided information on UPOU’s academic programs, online learning systems, admission processes, and the support services available to Filipino learners worldwide. UPOU’s participation in the MASC forms part of its broader efforts to expand access to UP education for overseas Filipinos and to strengthen its outreach initiatives through open and distance learning.
